LAND USE

Matthew Hayden is successful land use professional who has been working in the Southern California planning and development arena for the last 12 years.

​

Mr. Hayden was with Brown/Meshul, Incorporated from 2005-2009. Brown/Meshul has a long history of land use consulting in the City of Los Angeles. While there he worked throughout the city in communities such as the westside, Hollywood, the valley, and downtown. Mr. Hayden was involved with the entitlement of numerous projects encompassing a wide variety of discretionary approvals including General Plan Amendments, Zone Changes, Conditional Use Permits, Zone Variances, and Subdivisions.

From 2002-2004, Mr. Hayden was Special Projects Coordinator for the City of Calabasas. He worked closely with the City Manager and Community Development Director and was tasked with implementing City Council initiated projects. Mr. Hayden’s was responsible for the City’s Civic Center site design process, developing an annexation program, coordinating the legal opposition effort against border development, and preparing development grants.

In the early years of his career, he served as an Associate with The McCarty Company, LLC, a government affairs firm based in downtown Los Angeles. The company focused on land planning, entitlements, governmental relations, and building permit expediting services.

Mr. Hayden holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Masters in Planning from the University of Southern California. He is a member of American Planning Association and Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles.

Mr Hayden also principles his own firm Hayden Planning.
